“The Seance” selected in AI Short Fiction; Bengali music video “Chotobelar Kotha” selected in Music/Song/Album Competition

Miami, Florida Oct 26, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Databazaar Digital AI Film Studio, part of the Seal Global group, announces that two of its original productions have been nominated for awards consideration at the 10th New Delhi Film Festival (NDFF) 2027: The Seance, an English-language AI horror short directed by Rohan Roy, and Chotobelar Kotha, a Bengali music video directed by Suman Biswas. The studio and its YouTube exhibition platform Bongflix were both founded by Miami-based technology entrepreneur Oney Seal, who also created the AI song featured in Chotobelar Kotha.

The festival's first official nomination list, released October 21, 2026, places The Seance (entry 2563; 4 minutes 28 seconds) in AI Short Fiction and Chotobelar Kotha (entry 2564; 5 minutes 5 seconds) in Music/Song/Album. Both are listed as Indian productions. The music video is an AI-produced work, but its official festival category is Music/Song/Album--not AI Music Video.

The dual nominations highlight how Databazaar Digital pairs human-led creative direction and storytelling with AI-enabled production technology. Its integrated workflow spans concept development, scripting, visual generation, direction, editing, sound, and finishing. The studio develops both short-form narrative cinema and original music videos, using AI as a production tool in service of a human creative vision.

Bongflix, a fellow Seal Global group company, provides an audience-facing channel for the studio's work. Bongflix presents original and independent entertainment to viewers through its YouTube channel, @bongflixusa, with a particular connection to Bengali and South Asian audiences worldwide. Together, the companies connect production with digital exhibition and audience development under one group.

"For me, this is about bringing imagination and technology together without losing the human emotion at the heart of storytelling," said Oney Seal, Miami-based technology entrepreneur, founder of Databazaar Digital and Bongflix, and creator of the AI song Chotobelar Kotha. "I created Chotobelar Kotha to evoke the memories, music and sense of belonging that connect Bengalis across generations and borders. To see that music video recognized alongside The Seance is immensely encouraging. At Databazaar Digital, we are exploring how AI can expand the creative possibilities of filmmaking; through Bongflix, we can share those stories directly with audiences around the world."

The festival is scheduled for January 8-12, 2027, in Jaipur, India. According to the festival, nomination means official selection for award consideration; it does not by itself confirm an on-site festival screening.

Southeast Asia’s housing paradox: too many homes, too few buyers

In parts of Southeast Asia, unsold homes are piling up as developers struggle to clear housing stock – yet young buyers hoping to land their first property still cannot find an affordable home. The paradox reflects a growing mismatch between the homes being built and what aspiring buyers can afford, according to analysts, who point to speculative investment, financing hurdles and poor locations as factors leaving properties empty even amid demand for affordable housing. In Vietnam, the problem...
