Creatrix Solutions has released a guide to full spectrum light, heat and thermal dose in infrared saunas, explaining why air temperature alone compares the wrong number and how bulb spectrum, seating distance and enclosure design set the dose a person receives.

Kennewick, United States, October 20, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Creatrix Solutions has published a new resource on a distinction that most infrared sauna comparisons skip: the difference between the wavelength label on a heater and the dose of light and heat a person actually receives. The Full Spectrum Light, Heat & Thermal Dose guide explains how bulb spectrum, seating distance and enclosure design combine to set that dose, and why a cabin thermometer reports only part of it.
More details can be found at https://creatrixsolutions.com/products/sauna-thermal-dose
The guide opens with the comparison most buyers start from. A traditional sauna heats the air to roughly 150 to 195 degrees Fahrenheit and the air heats the body; an infrared sauna runs closer to 120 to 150 degrees while radiant energy warms the body directly. Read by air temperature alone, the traditional sauna looks far hotter, but the number on the wall says nothing about how much radiant energy reaches the person on the bench. The guide reframes the comparison around five variables: the spectrum the heat source produces, its intensity at the seat, the distance from the source, the session length, and how well the enclosure holds what the lamps deliver.
It then sets out what “full spectrum” means in measurable terms. Infrared is commonly divided into near (700 to 1,400 nanometers), mid (1,400 to 3,000) and far (above 3,000) bands, and the guide notes that these are approximate labels rather than biological dividing lines. An incandescent tungsten filament emits a broad, continuous spectrum that begins near 550 nanometers and runs through visible red into near, mid and longer infrared at once, which distinguishes it from LEDs that emit one or two narrow bands and from far infrared panels that emit mainly at the long end. A wavelength-by-wavelength comparison is available at https://creatrixsolutions.com/products/near-infrared-vs-far-infrared-saunas
The resource publishes manufacturer irradiance measurements for the Sauna Fix® heat lamp bulb to show how quickly intensity falls with distance: about 1,431 milliwatts per square centimeter at 4 inches, dropping to roughly 101 at 16 inches, with users normally seated 18 to 30 inches from the bulbs. It also documents how enclosure design changes operating temperature. A single four-bulb lamp brings the Sauna Fix® radiant tent, rated at R-15 insulation with a lining rated to reflect up to 97 percent of incident radiant energy, to roughly 140 to 145 degrees Fahrenheit, while a double-lamp configuration reaches approximately 185 degrees.
“People often choose an infrared sauna on a wavelength number alone, and that number does not show what reaches the body,” said a representative of Creatrix Solutions. “Two saunas with the same bulbs can deliver very different doses. We wanted one resource that puts spectrum, distance and enclosure design together, because that combination is the real dose of light and heat a person receives.”
The guide also summarizes what published sauna research measures, such as skin and core temperature, heart rate and sweating, and notes that studies differ widely in temperatures, heater designs, distances and session lengths, so findings from one type of sauna cannot be assumed to describe the dose delivered by another. It closes with guidance on hydration, gradual progression and stopping at the first sign of dizziness or discomfort. The material is educational and is not medical advice.
About Creatrix Solutions
Creatrix Solutions is a wellness equipment brand founded by inventor Eileen Durfee, a former nuclear power quality engineer who holds ten U.S. and six international patents. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday proposed a new US-Asean defence framework to guide cooperation over what he called “critically important years” ahead, but offered few details on what it would entail. The proposal faces questions over whether members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations will embrace a bloc-wide initiative, with analysts suggesting they would prefer bilateral arrangements that preserve their flexibility as they navigate ties with Washington and...
In a rare move, Singapore on Wednesday summoned top executives from 10 locally registered companies potentially linked to haze-causing fires in Indonesia to a meeting with three ministers. The executives all agreed to cooperate fully in an investigation by the city state into the regional environmental crisis that has caused air quality to dip to “very unhealthy” levels earlier this month. Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, Senior Minister K. Shanmugam and Minister for Sustainability and the...

Hundreds of people permanently living aboard a touring cruise ship were forced to disembark in Cambodia this week after the vessel’s operator said fuel price increases from the Iran war had made operations prohibitively expensive. The Villa Vie Odyssey had been cruising the world for at least 755 days as one of only a handful of ships that offered passengers the opportunity to rent or buy long-term or even permanent residences on board. On Tuesday, the ship’s owner, Villa Vie Residences,...
Rising ketamine abuse and a series of major drug seizures in Indonesia have fuelled calls for tighter controls on the substance, but a proposed reclassification has raised concerns that tougher penalties could further strain the country’s overcrowded prisons. Last week, Indonesian police and customs officials intercepted the Mongolian-flagged vessel MT Global 168 in the Malacca Strait, seizing 1.16 tonnes of ketamine hydrochloride packed in 58 sacks. National police chief Suyudi Ario Seto said...

The Philippines is in talks with Saudi Arabia, Russia and the United States to store oil in the fuel-import-dependent nation, in a bid to hedge against fuel price spikes driven by the Iran war.
