Hudson Valley Shadow AI Checklist For Business IT Security: Guide Released

Oct 22, 2026

Fisch Solutions (845-237-0000) has published a shadow AI checklist for Hudson Valley business owners, covering 12 questions across six governance areas to help leadership identify which AI tools their teams are already using without approval.

New Windsor, United States, October 22, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Hudson Valley managed IT provider Fisch Solutions has released a new resource on shadow AI, a term for AI tools used for company work without IT’s knowledge or approval. Titled “Shadow AI at Work: A Hudson Valley Business Checklist,” the guide is now available on the company’s website.

More details can be found at https://fischsolutions.com/shadow-ai-hudson-valley-business-checklist/

The guide is written primarily for owners and leadership teams. According to Fisch Solutions, AI rarely arrives in an organization through a formal rollout. It tends to start with a few people experimenting with tools on their own, often company leaders, which can leave owners uncertain about where AI is actually being used across the business.

According to IBM’s 2026 Cost of a Data Breach Report, AI-driven attacks increased 56% over the prior year, with malicious breaches involving AI costing organizations an average of $6 million, roughly $1 million above the global breach average of $4.99 million. The same report found that more than 20% of organizations experienced a breach targeting AI models or applications.

With so many organizations lacking that oversight, the guide starts with visibility. Fisch Solutions encourages businesses to look beyond popular chatbots to the browser extensions, desktop apps, and meeting recorders their staff use, along with AI features built into existing accounting, HR, and CRM software.

From there, the guide moves into its 12-question checklist, grouped into six areas: visibility, data, identity and access, agents and integrations, incident response, and ongoing governance. Teams mark each item as complete, needing work, unknown, or not applicable, then assign an owner and due date to anything left open.

“Paying for a business AI subscription doesn’t settle the security question,” a Fisch Solutions spokesperson said. “Owners need to know which accounts their people use, what information goes into each tool, and what those tools can do without anyone signing off. The checklist is meant to turn those unknowns into clear decisions.”

Written by founder Jason Fisch, the guide also explains how AI agents differ from simple assistants and what to do if sensitive information has already been shared. Fisch Solutions is headquartered in New Windsor, NY, and was recently named a 2026 MSP Titans Northeast finalist.

Filipinos split on Marcos’ South China Sea handling amid row over Jing Quan’s remarks

Filipinos are almost evenly divided over the Marcos administration’s handling of the maritime dispute with China, even as nearly three in four favour diplomacy over confrontation, according to a new survey. That preference has taken on added significance after recent remarks by China’s ambassador to Manila sparked a diplomatic row ahead of November’s Asean summit. The feud underscored the challenge of managing tensions with Beijing, and increasingly hostile rhetoric could make the diplomatic...

Novel idea: Thailand, Vietnam take books on the road in reading drive

Tran Dai Thang spotted two young people who had picked up their drinks at a pop-up cafe beside his travelling bookstore and were about to leave, so he called them over. One of them said they did not read books, Thang recalled. But he kept the conversation going and eventually persuaded the visitor to buy a book for 10,000 dong (US$0.40) – heavily discounted from its original price of 45,000 dong. For Thang, an artist and publisher, the small sale mattered far less than the fact that someone who...
